Celebrating the Success of Our Purpose Fundraiser Event In Portland, Oregon

Date: June 25th, 2023

By: Tony & Leonie

We are delighted to share the highlights and achievements from our recent fundraiser event held on June 9th.

The event brought together passionate individuals, dedicated supporters, and enthusiastic volunteers, all united by a common goal of creating a more equitable world.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed and supported this remarkable cause.

The primary focus of the evening was to raise awareness about the transformative work being carried out by our organizations, Amsha Africa and Education Seeds. Both organizations are committed to uplifting underserved communities and empowering teenagers through education and practical local skills, both in Africa and beyond. The funds raised during the event will further support key initiatives to drive positive change.

Collectively, through donations, silent auction items, and the raffle, we raised about $3500 toward our end of year $10k goal

We are so delighted to have raised these funds at our fundraiser!  Specifically, these proceeds will enable our organizations to purchase 100 PCs and 10 sewing machines, and support funding the trip to Kenya and DRC next year.

Amsha Africa Foundation (AAF) recently held a successful mid-year review, bringing together staff and project managers to showcase the remarkable progress made in 2023. The event highlighted a range of ongoing and completed projects that have positively impacted communities both locally and internationally.

AAF’s involvement in various Earth Day 2023 cleanup events, spanning from Portland, Oregon to Nairobi, Kenya, demonstrated their commitment to environmental sustainability. Additionally, the foundation spearheaded a highly successful 10KM Charity run in Kenya, collaborated with Binti Mwangaza, and organized a Menstrual Hygiene Day in multiple countries, empowering women and raising awareness about crucial health issues.

AAF’s Africa Gigster’s program achieved a significant milestone of over 2,000 daily engagements, while their smart agriculture project and innovative “green-house in a box” concept, led by Robert, promise to revolutionize farming practices.

AAF’s dedication to transparency and accountability was recognized with the prestigious 2023 Platinum Transparency Seal by Guidestar.

The foundation’s joint purpose party fundraiser with Education Seeds on June 9th, 2023, in Portland, Oregon, will further support their initiatives, with items being auctioned and available for sale on their website.

AAF has also updated its website and established partnerships with 12 new community organizations across three African countries, enhancing their collaborative efforts to create positive change.

Overall, AAF’s mid-year review highlighted their commitment to social impact and their dedication to improving the lives of underserved communities. Through our diverse projects, events, and initiatives, AAF continues to make significant strides in promoting sustainability, empowerment, and community development across Africa and the Globe.

Amsha Africa Foundation and Binti Mwangaza Join Forces to Empower Girls on Menstrual Hygiene Day

On May 28th, 2023, the world observed Menstrual Hygiene Day, and Amsha Africa Foundation is thrilled to announce its partnership with Binti Mwangaza, a collaborative effort aimed at promoting menstrual hygiene management and empowering girls.

With a shared vision, our organizations are dedicated to breaking down barriers and providing girls with the necessary resources to manage their periods with dignity and confidence. By pooling our efforts and expertise, we can expand our reach and create sustainable change.

Together, we have already made a significant impact. We have donated hundreds of menstruation kits to high school girls in Kenya, ensuring they have access to essential supplies. Additionally, we have raised awareness about the importance of menstrual hygiene and are actively working towards normalizing menstruation by 2030.

Amsha Africa Foundation and Binti Mwangaza are committed to raising awareness, offering education, and distributing sustainable menstrual hygiene kits to girls in need. Through this powerful collaboration, we strive to foster a supportive environment where every girl can embrace her menstrual health without shame or limitations.

Join us in supporting our joint mission to empower girls, promote gender equality, and improve access to menstrual hygiene management. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of countless girls and pave the way for a brighter, more inclusive future.
