What is the Dear Pen Pal + Kusoma Bags Program?
The Dear Pen Pal + Kusoma Bags Program is a unique literacy initiative designed to connect children in Kenya and the U.S. through a structured exchange of letters and storybooks. “Kusoma,” meaning “to read” in Swahili, reflects our commitment to nurturing a passion for reading and learning. Through this program, young learners will:
- Build Cross-Cultural Friendships: By exchanging letters, children will share their stories, dreams, and cultures, fostering global understanding and friendship.
- Enhance Literacy Skills: Writing letters and reading storybooks will help improve communication, creativity, and self-expression.
