receiving it knows how to use it\u2014how to type, find information safely, create documents, analyse data, write code, use artificial intelligence responsibly, solve real problems and eventually turn those skills into opportunity.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"979\" data-end=\"1181\">That belief is behind the launch of the <strong data-start=\"1019\" data-end=\"1045\">Amsha Digital Passport<\/strong>, a new learning platform created by the <strong data-start=\"1086\" data-end=\"1113\">Amsha Africa Foundation<\/strong> as part of its end-to-end laptop donation programme with <strong data-start=\"1171\" data-end=\"1180\">Intel<\/strong>.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1183\" data-end=\"1326\">The programme is designed to accompany laptops distributed through Amsha Africa Foundation to learners and communities across the Global South.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1328\" data-end=\"1504\">Instead of simply placing technology into someone\u2019s hands, the goal is to provide a learning journey that helps them understand what that technology can actually make possible.<\/p><blockquote data-start=\"1506\" data-end=\"1921\"><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"1508\" data-end=\"1866\">\u201cFor us, donating the laptop was never meant to be the finish line. It\u2019s the starting point. We want a learner who may be touching a computer for the first time to have a clear path\u2014from learning the keyboard and creating their first document, all the way to writing code, understanding the programme was to make sure students actually learn the material rather than race through it.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"3188\" data-end=\"3307\">Lessons combine short teaching sections with questions, interactive activities, memory checks and practical challenges.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"3309\" data-end=\"3334\">Learners may be asked to:<\/p><ul data-start=\"3336\" data-end=\"3639\"><li data-section-id=\"1tujrx1\" data-start=\"3336\" data-end=\"3380\">match a concept to the correct explanation<\/li><li data-section-id=\"1ok25mf\" data-start=\"3381\" data-end=\"3424\">sort strong and weak technology decisions<\/li><li data-section-id=\"sjb01n\" data-start=\"3425\" data-end=\"3473\">recognise phishing or unsafe digital behaviour<\/li><li data-section-id=\"18easx9\" data-start=\"3474\" data-end=\"3524\">identify the correct way to handle files or data<\/li><li data-section-id=\"1h4krem\" data-start=\"3525\" data-end=\"3558\">solve coding and logic problems<\/li><li data-section-id=\"adal63\" data-start=\"3559\" data-end=\"3582\">evaluate AI responses<\/li><li data-section-id=\"28jova\" data-start=\"3583\" data-end=\"3639\">apply a skill rather than simply remember a definition<\/li><\/ul><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"3641\" data-end=\"3754\">Each level includes a mastery assessment, with learners expected to demonstrate understanding before progressing.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"3756\" data-end=\"3955\">The experience is intentionally designed to be approachable for younger learners while still providing a pathway into skills relevant to secondary school, university, employment and entrepreneurship.<\/p><h2 dir=\"auto\" data-section-id=\"3zep9o\" data-start=\"3957\" data-end=\"4014\">Designed for the realities of the communities we serve<\/h2><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4016\" data-end=\"4171\">Many of the laptops Amsha Africa Foundation distributes will operate in environments where internet connectivity may be limited, expensive or inconsistent.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4173\" data-end=\"4218\">That shaped the programme from the beginning.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4220\" data-end=\"4389\">The Digital Passport has been designed so that the core curriculum can run locally on donated devices, allowing learners to continue studying even when they are offline.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4391\" data-end=\"4506\">Different versions have also been developed for the major types of devices being distributed through the programme:<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4508\" data-end=\"4570\"><strong data-start=\"4508\" data-end=\"4527\">Windows laptops<\/strong> have a dedicated Windows learning edition.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4572\" data-end=\"4730\"><strong data-start=\"4572\" data-end=\"4587\">Chromebooks<\/strong> have a ChromeOS-specific experience covering tools such as the Launcher, Shelf, Files, Google Drive, Quick Settings and Chromebook navigation.<\/p><p dir=\"auto\" data-start=\"4732\" data-end=\"4793\">And learners can access the web-based experience directly at:<\/p><h3
